Aeration of water (saturation of water with oxygen) is often required in the aquatic facilities that suffer from conditions of reduced amount of dissolved oxygen in the water. Such circumstances may arise where lack of natural aeration methods exist such as: insufficient supply of fresh water, or lack of natural photosynthesis of underwater plants. Common causes are human activities such as sewage discharges, industrial discharges of polluted water, agricultural activities, etc. At the fisheries, unfavorable conditions may arise due to overcrowding in the pond.
Dissolved oxygen contributes most to water quality. Oxygen is essential for the life of fish and other small aquatic organisms, and aerobic bacteria that carry out decomposition of organic matter in the water. In case of adverse conditions caused by the reduced amount of oxygen it leads to significantly reduced opportunities of the aquatic environment to sustain life.
Aerator is a device that is used to force the introduction of atmospheric air into the water, thus achieving the desired increase in oxygen saturation. Sufficient amount of oxygen dissolved in the water is one of the conditions for achieving and maintaining health and safety of water necessary for profitable farming in fish farms.
Aerator with drum type ARB 2-900-330 belongs to the class of surface aerators. During operation, the aerator drums are rotating partially submerged in the water and by its shape performing forcible surge, splashing and throwing water in the form of artificial waterfalls. In this way, a large amount of water, in the form of droplets is coming in contact with atmospheric air and leads to the efficient dissolution of oxygen. Besides that, the transverse pipes of the drum structure have a function as blades creating artificial water currents that pushes enriched water away from the aerator and contributes to its interfusion with still water.
Aerator with drum ARB 2-900-330 is a FLOATING type. From the shore or from a boat, the aerator is set to the desired position on the pond, lake or canal so that all two buoys are floating on the water surface.
WATER DEPTH SHOULD BE AT LEAST 0.5 M, and preferably more so that it would not disturb or raise the sludge from the bottom. After that, the aerator should be anchored or moored at specified places. Aerator is required to bind in at least two opposing points (preferably at four points).
Standard performance:
* Drive motor: 1.1 kW, n1 = 1380 rpm, n2 = 113 rpm * Carbon steel, galvanized * PE 100 * PTFE-Cu, Sipas L |
Remarks:
Electrical cables should be of adequate quality that is protected from water penetration. Tension and position of the cable should be adjusted to the free movement of floating aerator so as to prevent its stretching, tearing or becoming entangled in drums. Electrical system shall be equipped with circuit breaker. Power switch should be set on the coast in an easily accessible place protected from the weather conditions.
